I absolutely love this blog post. I too have gained weight recently and pretty quickly I might add! Could it be that my body has turned a corner at almost 42 years of age? Not sure, but it’s depressing just the same. I’ve had many friends tell me that yoga would be great for me, I have back issues from a recent car accident that ultimately cost me my day job (a god send really). After reading this post, I plan to check out these videos and put them into practice myself.

As far as what I’m currently doing, I have rid my house of anything made with Wheat and Gluten. Why? Because much research is showing that what we call Wheat today is NOT the same Wheat our founding fathers ate out of the ground. It’s so processed now, even down to the soil, that it’s not even really Wheat anymore! It’s being linked to the belly bulge, but also many diseases such as heart disease and cancers of the body. Now I mostly eat Organic and Raw foods, lots of fruit & vege’s, wild caught fish like Halibut and Salmon, lots of raw nuts for high Omega’s (plus the body doesn’t absorb all the fat in nuts), etc. Instead of buying Betty Crocker brownies, I now buy Flax Seed Brownies and they are so delicious!

Anywho, from changing my eating lifestyle I feel 10 times better and much lighter on my feet! AND, the weight is coming off and quickly. Now I just need to incorporate more exercise and water, then I’ll be good to go!

.. just wanted to drop you a quick line. I too have started the yoga sessions with Vanessa from CL – after a week of this (every other day at the moment) I am feeling so much better – friends have even asked if I’ve been on a diet (which I haven’t).

When you actually want to do your yoga and are smiling at the end of it, you know it’s working. And hopefully Vanessa will be back with us soon.

I am so excited for this project! I’ve been a makeup artist for 13+ years and have seen first-hand the complex relationship between a woman and the mirror. Knowing most all the fabulous women that are taking part in this book, I am really interested to read their thoughts and feelings about it as well as seeing the images that come from it.
